Expectation for the extraordinary experience – presentation of the Czech team for the WMF U23 WC
WMF World Cup is getting near and we are receiving more and more information on what is going on behind the scenes during the preparation of the teams. This time, during the talk with Mr. Jaroslav Pakosta, Czech national team leader, we got the answers to the questions about the flow of preparation, what they believe their strengths are, how the situation with the pandemic influenced their work, and what their expectations are.
This is what Mr. Pakosta shared:
„Compared to previous years, due to COVID measures, we had practically no major preparations, so we had to rely on our highest competition Superliga U23. Newcomers from this project were added to the stable and experienced players of the national team.
Our strength will be, as always, the complete cohesion and experience of our key players. The weakness may be the fact that for the first time we will not be at home at the European or world championships.
The situation associated with COVID-19, of course, affected our preparations, the national team itself, and the Superleague U23, from which the nominations for the upcoming World Cup are based. But we believe that the U23 competition itself and its Superfinals are a sufficient test of the players’ resilience and that we have chosen the right characters.
We mainly expect a new challenge, a new experience and, above all, we want to enjoy the championship as much as possible as a team.
We would like to take this opportunity to wish all the teams for the championship good luck and may the championship be an extraordinary experience for them as well as for us.“
