WMF Annual General Assembly 2026 Concludes in Jakarta with Major Global Expansion
JAKARTA, Indonesia – September 16, 2026 – The World Minifootball Federation (WMF) has officially concluded its 2026 Annual General Assembly in Jakarta, marking a pivotal moment for the sport’s global expansion and institutional governance. Delegates and member association representatives from across the globe gathered in the Indonesian capital to evaluate the federation’s progress over the past year and establish core strategic priorities for future international growth.
Strategic Reforms and Modernized Governance
During the official sessions, the Assembly formally approved the WMF Annual Report alongside the Strategic Action Plan for the upcoming year. The strategic agenda focuses on strengthening international competition frameworks, expanding grassroots infrastructure, and driving sustainable sport development worldwide. To ensure the federation keeps pace with its rapid global growth, delegates also adopted key amendments to the WMF Statutes, modernizing its administrative framework and reinforcing standard governance protocols.
Significant Membership Growth Across Four Continents
A central highlight of the assembly was the official admission of 19 new member associations. The federation expanded its presence across Africa, South America, and Asia by welcoming Brazil, Chile, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, Kenya, Mali, Senegal, South Africa, Sudan, Uganda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Guinea-Bissau, Congo-Brazzaville, Syria, Maldives, and Bangladesh. Additionally, Tanzania officially transitioned from provisional status to full WMF membership, reinforcing the federation’s footprint in East Africa.
