Being in the top 3 in the world is a reason enough to be satisfied
The third place winner at the WMF Women’s World Cup 2021 was Serbia that celebrated their win cheerfully, dancing to their national music.
With sharply one month of temporal distance, we wanted to know how their team feels now.
Ms. Tamara Perlinac, representative of the team Serbia shared with us that they had a great time in Ukraine, both on and off the field.
Tamara: “We had a lot of duties, but we tried to use our free time as much as possible, sometimes to go for a walk and see some beauties of Kyiv, sometimes to take a rest and spent time all together and with our friends from other countries.”
Tamara (on their satisfaction): “Well, if we take into account the way and the time we got an invite and come to Kyiv, we must be satisfied with the third place in this competition. We had a really short time to prepare for this competition. But I really think we have a great team, there is a lot of space for future progress and our goal will always be to give our maximum and win the gold medal. Definitely, this medal is one more motive to practice harder and to get better more and more as a team and as individuals. We are very happy with this opportunity and hope there will be a lot of opportunities like this for us in the future.
We played well in Ukraine, and it’s really hard to point out some strong or weak sides of the team. Think we played defense well and had a good finishing in global. Also, we have a great desire and passion for this game, and we always have great energy on and off the pitch, which is also one of the strongest sides of our team. I think there is nothing I would point out as a big weakness of the team, but there are always places to improve. We are all playing 11-a-side football or futsal, but as Serbia doesn’t have women league in minifootball, that is a sport where no one of us had a lot of experience before. One of the things we definitely must improve is field moving and field setting. Also, every individual player has some things to improve themselves.
And on the future plans: “Our plan is to continue with playing minifootball and we want to participate in every competition we can. We really had a great time here and we are really full of good impressions brought from Ukraine. Next time, we hope we will get an invite among the first, and be able to spend more time together, play more together and prepare better for next challenges that are coming, and also organize technical stuff better.”
A positive attitude persists here with the Serbian team, so we wish they hone their skills in the field moving and setting, stay cool as always, and we would gladly witness their champion performance during the next global competition.
