Azerbaijan’s Prime Minister, Ali Asadov, met with World Minifootball Federation (WMF) President Filip Juda, WMF Secretary General Zorica Hofman, WMF Vice-President Peter Kralik, and Azerbaijan Minifootball Federation President Orkhan Mammadov to discuss future initiatives for the growth of minifootball. With top-tier competition underway in Baku, the event continues to strengthen Azerbaijan’s reputation as a hub for world-class sporting events, as the WMF World Cup 2025 is currently being hosted in Baku from May 21 to June 1.
The meeting underlined Azerbaijan’s commitment to global sports excellence and its support for athletes and international competitions.
WMF President Filip Juda highlighted the significance of this collaboration, stating, “State support for the development of the sports industry is crucial. The minister’s commitment to advancing sports makes it even more so! I believe that, through joint efforts, we will contribute to the further development of minifootball in Azerbaijan. Meeting with such a prominent representative of the country already demonstrates the strength of minifootball’s position here. My personal wish is that the WMF World Cup will enhance minifootball’s popularity in Azerbaijan, attract more players to the sport, positively impact the local community, and potentially lead to the construction of a national minifootball stadium. This sport deserves such recognition, thanks to the leadership of the Azerbaijan Minifootball Federation.
